초록
의료기술의 발전으로 인해 치유가 어려운 만성 질환자의 장기기증을 이용한 장기이식 수요가 크게 증가하고 있어, 제도적으로 뇌사 인정제를 실시하고 있으나, 뇌사자 장기기증과 이식 건수는 많지 않다.
본 연구는 뇌사 추정자 또는 뇌사자를 직접 간호할 기회가 상대적으로 많은 특수부서의 뇌사자 장기기증에 대한 지식 및 태도에 관해 파악 하고자 시도되었다.
연구 대상자는 서울 소재 일 상급병원의 응급실, 내·외과계 중환자실, 수술실 간호사로서, 최종 107명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다.
연구 결과, 특수부서 간호사의 뇌사자 장기기증에 대한 지식은 20점 만점에 평균 10.79점이었으며, 태도는 5점 만점에 평균 3.47점이었다. 또한, 대상자의 연령이 많을수록, 임상경력이 높을수록, 장기기증에 관한 교육 경험이 있는 경우가 지식 정도가 높았으며, 태도는 근무부서에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 뇌사자 장기기증에 대한 지식은 태도요인 중 인지적 태도와 유의한 상관관계를 보였다(r=.220, p<0.05).
결론적으로, 뇌사 추정자 및 뇌사자를 접하기 쉬운 특수부서 간호사의 장기기증에 대한 지식은 보통이었으며, 지식이 높을수록 긍정적 태도를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 장기이식을 수행하는 병원은 간호사를 대상으로 한 관련 교육을 제공하는 데 적극적일 필요가 있음을 확인하였다.
본 연구 결과를 토대로 간호사의 교육 요구도를 반영한 뇌사자 장기기증 관련 교육 프로그램에 대한 개발과 교육방법에 따른 교육효과를 측정하는 중재연구가 이어질 것을 제언한다.

Due to the advancement of medical technology, the demand for organ transplantation using organ donation of chronic patients has greatly increased. Although legally brain death organ donation is accepted, there are not many cases of organ donation and transplantation.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge and attitudes toward brain donor organ donation among nurses working at special departments who are more likely to encounter brain death predictors or brain death cases. The subjects of the study were 107 nurses working at the emergency room, medical intensive unit, surgical intensive unit, and operating room of a general hospital in Seoul.
Results revealed that level of knowledge about organ donation was 10.79 points out of 20 and attitude score was 3.47 points out of 5. The higher the age and clinical career, the higher was the level of knowledge. Educational exposure to organ donation related to higher knowledge level. Attitudes had significant differences according to work department. Knowledge of organ donation was significantly correlated with cognitive attitude (r=.220, p<0.05).
In conclusion, knowledge of organ donation among nurses in special departments was moderate, and higher the knowledge, the more was the positive attitude. The hospitals performing organ transplantations confirmed that they need to be more active in providing relevant education to nurses.
Based on the results, it is suggested that the development of the need-based education program on organ donation and the intervention study to measure the educational effectiveness according to the teaching-learning methods must be implemented.
