초록 (Abstract)

In spite of its necessity, there is no shared code for the withdrawal of treatment in Korea. Therefore the efforts of Korean physicians to make such a code should be respected. However, many questions and critiques have been raised to such efforts. This article shows that many of them are not well challenged, and there are a few significant points doctors must consider. Many Koreans fear that if the code for the withdrawal of medical treatment accepted to the society, doctors may withdraw the treatment of even recoverable patients. One important cause of this distrust on physicians in the withdrawal of medical treatment is their attitudes to the case of Boramae Hospital. In order to obtain the public trust, physicians must examine their attitudes more seriously.
