초록 (Abstract)

The liver transplant candidates and living donors need an adequate knowledge and information about the liver transplantation to receive a liver transplantation successfully. For this purpose, it is desirable to systematic education and counseling from a liver transplant coordinator. Also, to promote the quality of life for recipients after liver transplantation, it is important that sustain self-management. The contents of pre-transplant education and counseling are consisted of the introduction about liver transplantation( history, status, preparation process, candidate registration, cost, insurance coverage, self-help group), liver transplantation( anatomy and function of liver, indication, surgical technique, retransplantation, ABO incompatible transplantation, complication after liver transplantation), pre and post-transplant management(preparation of candidates and donors, schedule of transplant, post-transplant and post-donation management), approval for living donors and disability benefits. Furthermore, the structured interdisciplinary education program based on the actual needs of LT recipients and living donors is to improvethe effectiveness and satisfaction about education and counseling and to contribute to health promotion of liver transplant recipients and donors.
