초록[abstracts]
[We all live in the age of anxiety. In the modern consciousness generalizing about “turning away from death” or “absence of death”, it is a truism that our life seems mentally more remote from a driving power for life now than it once was. The purpose of this study is to inquire into restoration of precious life’s value with the concept of “Well-dying” that will provide fodder for the question, “why do we live?” It is not only a restoration of human dignity, but also a study for meaningful time utilization about the temporal change in post-modern society. For this, the researcher will shed light on what Well-dying aims at and the concept’s faults, through consideration for films of four different countries (based on different socio-cultural content), which deals with in the theme of death. After all, this study examines not a clinical pathology or ambiguous speculation on an alternative way for dying well, but practical and cognitive conditions for the concept of Well-Dying that gives meaning to our lives and transmutes empty time into abundant time. This study will also suggest a gaze on objective point of view, through the way to illustrate exactly the concept of Well-dying in those films and what the films are up against. In the Korean reality whose suicide rate tops among the OECD members, moreover, the argument will give a chance to ruminate on one’s dignity and the real meaning of life for those who might be choosing to commit suicide because of extreme isolation from a society.]
