초록[abstracts] 

[과학기술의 급속한 발달로 인해 우리는 대변혁의 시기에 서 있다. 생명공학, 신경과학의 발달은 인간의 정신이나 신체를 조작의 대상으로 삼아서 포스트휴먼의 시대를 예고한다. 신경망 인공지능의 발달은 제4차 산업혁명을 야기하여 우리를 쓸모없는 인간집단으로 만들지도 모른다. 과학이 추진하는 미래는 유토피아인가 디스토피아인가? 논자는 인간의 본질을 통해 이 문제의 실마리를 찾아야 한다고 생각한다. 인간성은 역사과정의 모든 변화에도 불구하고 우리가 누구인지에 대한 판단을 지탱해준 근간이었다. 인간의 의식은 여전히 자신을 드러내지 않는 신비한 블랙박스며, 신체의 조작과 개선을 통해 우리의 본질을 잃어서는 안 된다. 그래서 칸트의 인간학을 토대로 인간이 무엇인가를 성찰하였다. 칸트의 인간학에 대한 신뢰성은 뇌 과학의 정보를 통해 뒷받침하였다. 칸트는 마음과 도덕성 그리고 공감의 감정에 의해 우리가 존엄한 인격적 존재로서 사회적 삶을 유지할 수 있다고 한다. 인간이 한낱 사물이 아니라 존엄한 존재인 것은 그가 사적 이익이 아니라 옮음을 근거로 행위 하는 도덕적 존재이기 때문이다. 지금은 공리주의적 손익계산이 아니라 옮음의 기준으로 우리의 미래를 선택해야 할 때이다. 과학기술의 발전은 결코 인간 삶의 가치에 대한 어떤 비전에 의해 추동되지 않는다. 과학기술이 인류의 진정한 발전을 위해 어느 방향으로 나아가야 할지 호모 사피엔스의 지혜를 발휘해야 한다., 

Due to the rapid development of science and technology, we live in the period of great revolution. The development of biotechnology and neuroscience signals the post-human era as an object of manipulation of human mind or body. The development of neural network as artificial intelligence may cause the Fourth Industrial Revolution to make us useless. Is the science future of utopia or dystopia? I think that the human nature gives us a clue to solve this problem. Humanity used to be the basis for maintenance of judgment of our identity, despite all the changes in the historical process. The human mind is still a mysterious black box that does not reveal itself, and we should not lose our essence through manipulation and improvement of the body. Kant’s anthropology was used to reflect on our identity. The reliability of Kant’s anthropology was supported by development of brain science. Kant says that by the emotions of heart, morality, and sympathy, we can maintain social life as a dignified personal being. Man is not a thing but a dignified being because he is a moral being who acts on the basis of rightness rather than private interest. Now is the time to choose our future as the basis of rightness rather than utilitarian profit and loss calculations. The development of science and technology is never driven by the value of human life. The wisdom of Homo sapiens should be used for Scientific technology to advance for the real development of mankind.]
