초록[abstracts]
[Table of content] Animal testing has been used as a tool to promote human health and improve life, but recently, the inhumane aspects have raised questions about its necessity and ethics. Currently, there are no common standards in the world and differences in the regulations on animal testing in each country can have a sensitive impact on the development of life science technology and interests in each country. In the U.S., the animal welfare law has been established to supplement regulations on new experimental animals at the center of academic societies and hospitals since it established directions related to the use of experimental animals in animal testing procedures. Although Korea also has regulations for protecting laboratory animals in animal testing procedures under the Act on Animal Protection and the Act on Experimental Animals, the rate of ineffectiveness is being generated by the dualization of laws and regulators. In this situation, it is necessary to set up laws and standards to apply the nation s legislation to regulations such as the scope and conditions of the nation s animal experiment compared to those of the United States.
