Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between spirituality, well dying attitude, and dignified dying attitude in clinical nurses.
Methods: A descriptive correlation design was used. The subjects were 197 clinical nurses from a university hospital in J city from December 25 to December to 31, 2017. Data were collected through using a structured questionnaire, including general characteristics, Spirituality Scale, the measurement tool for Well Dying Attitude, and Dignified Dying Scale. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and pearson's correlation coefficient.
Results: The average age of the subjects was 31.63 years. Total score of spirituality was 97.97±12.89, well dying attitude was 50.02±4.83, and dignified dying attitude was 89.56±10.07. A positive correlation was found between spirituality and well dying attitude score and dignified dying attitude score.
Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that factors such as spirituality, well dying attitude, and dignified dying attitude are necessary for establishing the right values regarding the death of clinical nurses.
